We are seeking a highly motivated Head of Plant Biology to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the research on duckweed and maximizing its yield potential and protein concentration. The Head of Plant Biology will also be responsible for identifying the nutritional potential of duckweed and exploring alternative value-added products. The candidate should have a strong background in plant biology, research, and experimentation. They should also have a deep understanding of the science behind duckweed growth and be able to formulate experiments to validate hypotheses.

Our organization currently runs a test farm in Shamshabad, and all on-field trials will be conducted at this location. Our goal is to produce high-quality, nutrient-rich duckweed at scale, and we believe that this can be achieved through innovative and scientific methods.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee the research on duckweed and ensure that it is grown under optimal conditions.
2. Develop and implement strategies to maximize duckweed yield potential.
3. Analyze the nutritional potential of duckweed and explore alternative value-added products.
4. Conduct research and experimentation to validate hypotheses related to duckweed growth and nutrition.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and product development.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in plant biology and incorporate new findings into the organization's operations.
7. Manage a team of scientists and technicians.

Expertise

• A highly qualified candidate with a Ph.D. / Masters in Plant Biology or in related fields such as biology/agriculture/microbiology.
• Proven experience in plant biology research and experimentation.
• Practical expertise in growing non traditional crops such as hydroponics and aquaponics.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to formulate and test hypotheses.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of scientists and technicians.
